Dance Collective Policies & Procedures

COVID - 19 Studio Safety Plan

Students and teachers will perform a Self-Assessment before coming to the studio each day. We have a strict no sick policy for all dancers and teachers. Only students and Dance Collective staff will be allowed inside the studio, aside from parents accompanying young dancers.

Parents will drop-off and pick-up dancers at the main studio entrance. We will be locking the studio between classes, and will only allow access to the studio at class times.

  • Students are to come to dance ready to go in dance clothes.

  • All students and staff will sanitize their hands upon entering the studio, as well as after any breaks or bathroom breaks.

  • Schedules have been made to add 15 minutes between each class. This gives dancers enough time to exit the building before the next class arrives, as well as gives Dance Collective staff time to clean and sanitize high-touch areas and equipment before the next class arrives.

  • Dancers are only allowed to bring one SMALL shoe bag with them into the studio. There will be designated marked spaces for bags inside the studio.

  • At this time, bare feet are not allowed in the studio. So please remember proper footwear.

  • Dancers should bring their own reusable water bottle from home, labelled with their name. There is a water bottle filling station available if needed, but no access to water fountains at this time.

  • Classes have limited participants based on government regulations and studio size.

  • To ensure recommended physical distancing, each dancer will be provided a clearly marked square for floor work, centre work and stretching. Barres will be marked to ensure enough space is between dancers as well.

  • It is mandatory for all teachers and students to wear masks during class as well moving around in the studio and hallways.

  • To limit contact with other classes, washroom access is limited to teachers and only if necessary, to students.

  • If you are feeling unwell in any way, please do not visit the studio.

  • If you have a family member waiting Covid test results please do not attend dance class.

  • Signage inside and outside of the studio regarding our Covid-19 procedures.

  • Hand sanitizer available both outside and inside the studio. Disinfecting all hard surfaces both inside and outside the studio multiple times daily.

  • All staff are following strict Covid-19 policies and procedures.

  • Staggered class times to allow for less contact between students.

  • Students are required to bring their own water bottle and no sharing will be permitted.

  • Plans in place if a child or staff member becomes ill while at the studio.
